1. First contact: tell us what you need

The journey starts with the problem or project you have—not with a preselected repair. You can book online or call the team and explain whether you are dealing with a leaking or failing shower, planning a wider bathroom renovation, or are still unsure which direction fits.

The How We Work pathway separates visual shower assessment and rectification quoting from renovation planning.

2. Choose the right in-home appointment

For customers considering professional shower rebuilding, the starting point is a visual assessment of accessible areas, consultation and a quotation outlining proposed rectification works. It excludes diagnostic testing, leak-source identification, invasive investigation and formal inspection reports.

For a complete, partial, ensuite or shower-led bathroom renovation, the starting point is the $299 Bathroom Renovation Consultation. It covers your brief, measurements, layout and wet-area review, pathway guidance, and a fixed-price scope after design and inclusions are defined. The $299 fee is credited against the renovation when you proceed.

These appointments serve different purposes. A renovation consultation plans a new room and its inclusions; a shower specialist visit investigates a problem and the work likely needed to address it.

3. Visual assessment or renovation consultation at your home

During a shower visit, the specialist visually reviews accessible areas and visible construction and waterproofing concerns. Concealed conditions cannot be confirmed. For leaks, waterproofing failure or non-compliant construction, our minimum rectification service is a complete shower rebuild.

During a renovation consultation, the conversation focuses on the way you use the room, your priorities and style, measurements, layout and wet-area requirements. This establishes the information needed before selections and construction are defined.

The Shower Man is a family-owned Melbourne shower and bathroom specialist. The About Us page introduces the in-house people responsible for helping plan, coordinate and deliver the work.

4. Review a defined proposal before deciding

For a shower project, you receive a rectification quotation outlining the recommended scope, meaning the exact work included, and concealed-condition limitations. This is not a written inspection report. For a renovation, the fixed scope follows the agreed design and inclusions.

Read the scope, inclusions and project-specific terms before accepting. This is the point to ask questions and confirm what will remain, what will be removed or replaced, and which selections or decisions are still required. There is no obligation to proceed after the shower specialist visit.

5. Plan selections, materials and the work sequence

If you proceed, the team confirms the agreed selections and prepares the project sequence before work begins. Renovation clients can receive guidance on tiles, vanities, tapware, screens and accessories at the Pakenham showroom by appointment.

The exact work depends on your signed scope. A shower rebuild and a complete bathroom renovation do not follow an identical construction sequence, so the proposal and project plan—not an old generic checklist—set the expectations for your home.

6. Project delivery in your home

The current process includes protecting the route to the bathroom, coordinating the agreed work, keeping you informed and cleaning the work area as the project progresses. The people and trades required depend on whether the scope is a shower rebuild, partial renovation or complete renovation.

Work is completed in the sequence required by the agreed project. That may include demolition, repairs to exposed materials, plumbing and wet-area preparation, waterproofing, tiling, fit-off and finishing. Unexpected conditions or requested changes are handled against the actual project scope rather than hidden behind a blanket promise.

“From the initial consultation right through to completion, the communication was always fantastic… Yong and Riley were considerate (and so neat and clean!), took into account our requests and was so efficient without compromising on quality.”

7. Quality check, clean and handover

At the end of the agreed work, the finished project is checked and cleaned. The team walks you through the result and provides relevant care information, documentation and the warranty terms that apply to your project.

The Our Guarantee page explains The Shower Man’s current service and workmanship commitments. Review it alongside your proposal and project-specific documents, which set out the terms that apply to your work.

8. Aftercare starts with the handover information

Keep the supplied care information, proposal, invoices, project records and warranty documents together. Follow the care guidance for the installed finishes and contact The Shower Man if you have a question about the completed scope or the applicable warranty.

This guide explains the overall customer journey without replacing the detailed How We Work page, your written proposal or the terms supplied for your project. Those project-specific documents explain the current process, inclusions and commitments for your work.

“The service was outstanding from start to finish… The tradesmen who worked on my shower were kind, considerate and efficient throughout the whole rebuild and explained the whole process thoroughly.”
